Since summer school’s been over, I’ve been using Netflix more often than usual. Now that I have some time, I thought I can commit to a new series to binge-watch or cross some titles off that long list of movies to watch.

So I thought I might share the best of my “Recently Watched.”  Note: some of these shows and movies have been on Netflix for quite some time now, but I’ve only gotten the chance to watching and/or finishing them recently.

Currently Watching:

Dawson’s Creek

I’ve had MAJOR One Tree Hill withdrawal ever since it ended in 2012. So when I started watching Dawson’s Creek, I was instantly hooked. Adolescent drama takes me back to high school and I can’t get enough of the Dawson+Joey duo.

Arrested Development

I thought my family was dysfunctional…but I can’t be more wrong. Michael Bluth and his son re-enter the Bluth family after Michael’s father is incarcerated for fraudulent activities. There’s never a dull moment in this wildly hilarious comedy series.

Watched and Loved:

The Book Thief

This movie’s what inspired me to write this post. Young Liesel steals books to find peace and consolation in a time of war in Germany. It’s such a beautiful movie, I can watch it over and over again.

The Mindy Project

We’ve dedicated an entire post to talk about how much we love The Mindy Project and the star of the show, Mindy Kaling. Need I say more?

Madea Movies (all of them)

She may be a loud, old-school disciplinarian, but Mable Simmons is one of the best characters to have ever been made. Don’t miss out on 2 hours of crazy family reunions and weddings with a huuuge comical twist.

Downton Abbey

A costume drama about the lavish lifestyles of an Earl and his family in England, in their large country estate full of servants who’ve established a social hierarchy of their own. There’s always a problem in Downton Abbey and you’re invited to stay for dinner.

Mad Men

Classy. Confident. Cool. Don Draper is such a sexy mystery. But like any man in the 60′s, even Don has secrets. Meanwhile women like Peggy Olson are breaking the traditional gender roles of the time. BONUS: 60′s fashion preview

So there you have it, some of my favourite recently watched flicks and series. I’m always looking for movies to watch on Netflix. Which would you recommend?
